my aim= dYnAm1c1024Advice on building a bare bones PC?
dont need books decided your price range get the best motherboard cpu dual core got both as good deal most places harddrive 120 gb dvd drive power unit over 400 watt also get a graphic card if not built into motherboard and choose your tower instructions come with motherboard as well as drivers make sure you have your windows disk as well
bigellows computer maintenance is a good book to start off with you can all so look on www.tomshardware.com for reviews on all hard ware reviews. I use www.ebuyer.com they can deliver in 24hrs and safe site to buy from i have built over 1000 comps the key is to work out what u want to use it for i.e gaming or office, gaming comps all ways cost more. then work out Ur budget. the key genrally is get the best mainboard and psu u can get then work from there.
I have been building PC's for a long time. A lot of it comes from experience. You could buy a bare bones kit from a website like newegg or tigerdirect and then assemble it yourself.

The part that can be the most difficult is applying the thermal paste to the CPU. If you are using a stock CPU its not very difficult,

The best place for help would be a techie forum. maximumpc.com has some decent forums. (they are a PC Mag)

Building money...advice please?

What is the best way to make $2000.00 grow in a bank....please give me explanations of what is best %26amp; why it is best.

Thanks Guys!!Building money...advice please?
You won't make much money on a $2000 investment in a bank. Your best chance will be to find a CD or money market certificate that pays about 4.5%. Savings accounts are between 0.005% and $0.015%. These accounts are safer than you gambling your money in the stock market if you aren't familiar with investing.

You need to learn how to invest it so you can see real growth.

I would suggest learning how to create multiple incomes. This in my opinion is the key to success. Regardless of your interests you can make money doing whatever you like if you have the knowledge.

My boyfriend and i are looking into building a home. We are first time home builders, so we will be getting the $21,000 grant from the Australian gov. We are looking at a 4x2. We also prefer a alfresco over a games room. Can you give us any advice form personal experience it will be much appreciated. Anything we should/shouldn't get, position of land, floor plan ect. any little things like that :) thankyou

Have a closed off area inside your front door before entering your house. If possible include a guest bath and a closet area. You'll be glad you did over the years. Have fun and enjoy making it a home

    LeeAdvice on building a house?
Have a closet by the door used most often when entering the house. Have a walk-in pantry. NEVER have any glass in the front door unless you want 5 million bugs to fly in every time the door is opened. A basement! to place the water heater, water softener or furnace.

    Good luck.

Building homes to sell. Any advice on getting started?

Planning on building homes to sell. The homes will be built on lots we currently own and most work will be done ourselfes.

What are some things to keep in mind when starting a business like this?

Is it worth the extra money in materials to build bigger for a bigger resale?

Is there any good building software out there?Building homes to sell. Any advice on getting started?
build to code, use quality materials, take photo's of your work, especially prior to enclosing the framing, plumbing, etc. build one, sell it and then build the next one. build different sizes and styles to stay away from the cookie cutter approach.

DIY all you can and shop around for bargains.

Get the dress on ebay and call the park districts in your area- it's usually VERY cheap to have your wedding in a park. Then either do a cake and punch reception or if you want a meal, a friend of mine bought stouffer's frozen lasagnes, had a nice salad and some good bread, bought liquor at Sam's club and it was really nice.Im planning a wedding. You will get lots of great advice about that subject on this messageboard. My son got a great deal on a used engagement ring on EBay. It has a beautiful quarter carat diamond in it, and he paid $125.00. Only buy from an EBay seller who has a lot of great feedback. The wedding ring came from an antique shop.

The night before the wedding, we had about six family members over to make all the flower arrangements. We got the flowers at the farmers' market, and a book of instructions at a craft store.

    Good luck.
OK! I did mine for less then $700.00 and that was including a round trip ticket for my mother from Arizona-$150.00

New collarless white shirt, slacks, belt and socks for groom-$75.00

    Dress-$65.00 including Alterations.

    Hair-$17.00 including tip

    Shoes-$10.00 from payless shoes source

Invitations-$15.00 (found what I wanted from the internet..and copied and pasted it onto my computer. Then went to KINKOS and got some pretty paper and matching envelopes to print up my own invitations)

    Renting chairs and tables-$40.00

Renting Gazebo and Pavallion-$10.00 (for 2 hours)

    Food, Decorations, Party Favors-$100.00

    New Rings-$150.00

Photographer-$50.00 included prints and negatives (hired a photography student from the local JC.)
Many people usually volunteer to help out for the wedding... Mother of the Bride, the Groom's family, etc... If anything, you should find a nice house or club house (free) to rent, and invite as little people as you can since the more people, the more it will cost. Through friends, find out who has what (or who can do what), cake decorations, floral arrangements. If you go to a discount whole sale store, you can get cheap floral arrangements. Also, make your wedding cake (or allow someone else to), it will be much cheaper... even a decorated layor angel food cake is really nice if you put flowers around it or strawberries (fruit).
It is free to get married in a park. Just contact a park near you and make sure no permits are required and that space is available. Then you can get a tent for the party. For the ceremony set up white chairs and a little arbor. Some parks are stunning or have lakes so very little is needed. Then just get some food and rent some tables. I am an event planner and have done it for under 1,500 a gorgeous wedding. You can check out my website www.confettieventplan.com or email me if you want help or more ideas. Good luck!
IS there such a thing ? Get married in a park, nice this time of year,,,
My daughter had the same problem. They rented a place in a park that had a gazebo where they had the ceremony and a covered shelter to gather afterward. The minister was a friends father who did not charge a fee. Her dress was on sale ($99), she borrowed a veil and already had shoes to match. The food we all made at home and was heavy appetizers. Got ingredients at good prices and everyone raved how great it was. Served local wine. Bought decorations at dollar stores (baskets, vases, candles, paper products, wine glasses etc). Flowers came from vendor at farmer's market who was thrilled to be asked to make up the bouquet and table arrangements(daiseys in a vase) and cake was donated by a realtive as a present. DJ and photos were also presents from friends who provided the services. It was wonderful. Everyone was so impressed and it was very classy. With time and creativity it can be done to Martha Steward standards.
talk to a church, they usually do the wedding for free but its always good to donate a little money, and have the reception at your house instead of at some place where you have to pay a bunch of money to rent the place, and maybe cook your own food instead of a caterer
~Wear ';Sunday Best'; clothes that you already have. Him in a suit, you in a pretty dress or a suit with a skirt.

~Have a cake and punch reception instead of dinner.

    ~Skip the booze.

    ~Skip the music and dancing.

~Have a small family wedding in your backyard with only closest family and friends attend.

    ~Skip the favors

~Buy a nice bouquet of flowers from the grocery store or make a silk arrangement.

~Cake: walmart makes gorgeous wedding cakes. Sheet cake is fine, too.

    Best wishes!!

    Advice on building a website?

i need help on building a business website. i know nothing about it. how do i get a domain name? how do i get started? help!Advice on building a website?
Pay $10 at www.godaddy.com to buy a name.

Register at www.Weebly.com or www.SynthaSite.com because you must have someone ';host'; your site. These 2 are cheap and easy to understand.

When you are started, register at www.google.com/local/add so you will show up first when anyone searches for your product or business in your city..Advice on building a website?
It depends on how much you're willing to spend. You could spend $0 and get a Geocities account. It gives you very limited tools and the domain is not top level (.com).

You could spend a little by purchasing an account with 1and1, Godaddy, Yahoo Business and other great places for a few bucks a month without any experience in building websites.

The cheapest place to get a domain is 1and1 not Godaddy. 1and1 gives you nice add-ons such as domain privacy for free, and the domain only costs about $5 or free if you rent a server from them.

There are a few things you need to know in order to build a website, and that is ';Programming Languages';, ';Design Elements and Framework';, and ';Content';. First lay out what you want on your website, and then look into HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Flash or Silverlight, and that should get you going for even more ideas. Databases usually use mySQL 4+, these days a lot of people have already upgraded to mySQL5. You'll see what I mean once you research it.

Finally if you think that building a website is too time consuming, you could always find a company to make one for you professionally. Nothing promotes a business like an amazing website! You'll get a lot more business if your website is professionally made, optimized, and marketed in the market.

What does this mean? SEO, SEM. Have fun and good luck!

Go to bodybuilding.com. Some of the smartest bodybuilders in the world post in the forum, write articles, and give workout plans. If you do your research well you will gain muscle in no time. Just in case you don't read this on the site I will say that a key to building a lot of muscle is through drinking a fast digesting protein (whey is the most common) right after lifting weights.

  • I need advice on making a privacy policy for my website I am building..?

What should I provide my lawyer with? How much should I pay him? What should I make sure he emphasizes? Any other helpful suggestions? THANKS!!I need advice on making a privacy policy for my website I am building..?
All that depends on the nature of the site, which you didn't even hint at.

He should be specialist in the area, few attorneys are.

You should pay him the going rate - if trouble arises, he is going to have to defend you so don't be cheap, you need him on your side.

Not only that, ask him to certify in writing that he did not take the policy from any boilerplate legal site or book, and that he or his firm wrote the underlying document.

Otherwise its not customized enough to your needs, and will likely be full enough of holes as to be worthless in the clutch.

BTW, if you have a budget for this privacy policy, make sure you are properly incorporated so as to limit your legal liability as well. Any attorney that does not suggest that in the first 5 minutes of talking to him or her, thank for their time and walk away and find someone else.

What is the best way to make $2000.00 grow in a bank....please give me explanations of what is best %26amp; why it is best.

    Thanks Guys!!Building money...advice please?
Most mutual funds require a $2500 initial investment. Some retirement accounts can open for $1000.

Gold and gold mining stocks are intelligent choices at this time. Basically, the government bailouts inflate the money supply which devalues the dollar against hard assets like gold.

Here's an example of a mutual fund screener:

    http://screen.yahoo.com/a?cc=%26amp;nm=%26amp;proy=%26amp;鈥?/a>

Mutual funds have some level of diversification. You can achieve greater diversification by choosing funds which focus on different sectors.

For example, some funds focus on China and others focus on Oil and Gas.

The market will do well for about 2 months but don't let that fool you. The overall trend for the US economy is negative.

The problem is that the government does not create wealth. It transfers wealth from the productive to the unproductive, from the thrifty to the careless.

Try to think like Warren Buffett. He avoided the dot com bubble. He didn't lose a penny on Fannie Mae. He is now buying distressed companies at bargain prices.

My best answer for $2000 NOW is visit a coin dealer. Choose some gold or silver coins. When you see a trend for oil or coal or solar, cautiously move from gold coins to an ETF or mutual fund which focuses on that sector.Building money...advice please?
Its not going to build in a bank, even after thirty years you wouldn't even double the money! Invest in a mutual fund.
At the moment, there is no way to grow your money in the bank. Even CDs are very low. The best rates are at INGDirect, an online bank. Their website shows their 18 month CD is at 4.5% for the moment.
In a bank the best way to make it grow is though CDs but with $2,000 though a CD account is going to have interest amount that sucks
buy gold for safe and good returns in future

    Building new computer advice?

im making a new computer, 790i xfx motherboard core 2 quad @ 2.3ghz sli two 9600gt 8 gb of ddr3 500 gb sata hdd, how much power should i get is 600w enough? also what is a good heat sink that will keep the cpu cool, is the stock good enough?Building new computer advice?
600 would probably be ok but id go for atleast 750Building new computer advice?
There are free to use PSU calculators on the internet. I prefer the one on the Thermaltake site.

Fill in the blanks and it will suggest what you need.
Can you please explain WHY you want 8gb of DDR 3 ram? That's the equivalent of 16GB ram, and windows can only use a maximum of 4gb. Waste of money in my opinion.
Whatever size psu you get make sure it is a modular! But I'd say 750 min, me I would go 850 or 900. On the heat-sink DO NOT GET water-cooled; sure they keep it cooler but they all leak eventually. With the 8gigs of ram you'll need a 64bit OS. If you want the most bang for your buck go with a WD VelociRaptor HDD. For the vid card go for a 4890 series gpu, or wait a few months for directx11 cards! And for your cpu the fastest out there is Intel's Pentium D 965 Extreme Edition with a core speed of 3.73 ghz and easy overclocks to 4.26 ghz. And did I mention this dual core baby is only $99.99?
That sounds like a awesome build. 600watt should be enough just make sure the power supply is SLI or crossfire ready and has the connectors you need. A cooler I would recommend is the freezer 7.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a> You should also use artic silver for your thermal compound.

A bit of computer advice building a pc?

hi i am currently in the middle of purchasing a new comp now i have been quoted 拢250 for certain computer its what i want or 拢167 for tha same thing in bits now i have previously moved a comp into a new case and all worked out fine and dandy, i moved motherboard put everything back in etc, now is there anyone out there who could give me a bit of advice on wather its best to spend that extra to have it all done for me? or some advice on putting it together if i buy it seperate because i am not to sure about installing all the processor and that from scrath i know i proabably sound like a right tool lol!

any help would be great thanks!A bit of computer advice building a pc?
i think i would pay extra to have it already put together. the motherboard, processor, fans, heat-sinks are all easy to install, but can be a bit confusing when actually hooking everything up. PCs ' s look different inside and have different types of connections that you might not be familiar with. so you cant always look at one PC while putting another together for comparison ..... i found out the hard way. it is actually pretty easy if you know what you are doing. if you are confident enough... and knowledgeable enough you might want to do it just for the fun of it. personally i would pay the extraA bit of computer advice building a pc?
I found this site very useful.

    http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/Build.htm

Also remember to earth yourself to a radiator or something. Static electricity can really ruin computer components.
if your sure you are getting all the parts required for the 拢167, do it that way, you will only need a philips screwdriver for installing the motherboard and drives, and a flat head driver to clip on the fan(depending on the heatsink clip).

it is really easy to do, as far as fitting the processor, just line up the arrows.

if you have changed case before you will manage this.
Building the pc takes only a half hour at most, and that is if the front controls are single pin and not in a single connector. The real fun begins when you load the os and try to make everything work. If all the new parts are in a box and come with driver discs, it should be pretty straightforward. Just the choice you make on confidence in your abilities vs. spending the money to have it all done for you. It is fun to build pc's, but the first time can be a bit daunting, as there are a lot of variables, such as selections in bios, finding the latest drivers and loading them, etc.
Make sure ur grounded. VERY IMPORTANT!!!
I say buy it separate! BE sure before you touch anything, you are working on a wood,(or fake wood), tabletop, not on your bed, or carpet floor! Touching the metal frame, frequently, of the computer, get's rid of that. Static 'kills' computers! When you get the parts, come back here, and ask any question you like, or email me, and I'll lead you thru it, step by step. Remember NO question is stupid!
Building your own computer if very satisfying but requires a lot of experience to do it right. There are a LOT of 'gotcha's that can take an inexperienced person a LONG time to correct. It's also possible to destroy thing if not done correctly.

Therefore, if you're not sure, and can't afford to spend a lot of money to correct things if you do it wrong, I would suggest that you have it built and guaranteed by someone that knows what they're doing.

To gain experience, try assembling a computer from spare parts and see if you can get it working right.
It's always satisfying to build a computer yourself, and I have done it twice, however, if the price of 拢250 includes a legitimate operating system, but the price of 拢167 doesn't, then it's probably better to pay the 拢250.
You can save alot doing it yourself, but you need to know about RAM speeds, not just size, or your computer is gonna be slower than it should be. You need to know there are several different cpu socket types and what will work on what motherboard. But the worse part is, installing an operating system from scratch if you've never done it. You can't just use a restore disc, you need an actual windows disc. You will need to partition your hard drive. Once Windows is on, you will need to install drivers for your new motherboard and hardware. If you don't understand about anything I just said, then google it, cause you will need to know. But I'm not trying to discourage you from building one, just don't want you to find out the hard way that you will need a hundred dollar windows operating system cause you thought your restore disc would work.
its better if you build a pc yourself, because its cheaper and you can choose what you exactly want in the pc.
    www.giochipro.com
10% is a good assembly price imho
dont forget to put some big ram in it and dont connect an old motherboard to new components... usually they'r nt compatible and nothing happens
Always make sure to discharge any static from yourself periodically, you can do this by touching a piece of metlat that is stuck into the ground. Discharge periodically!!!

When working on the unit be sure to unplug it, if you prefer to have it plugged then you should wear shoes to avoid shock.

Have a philips screwdriver handy(Majority of the screws that will be used are +%26lt;-philips) , chose a screwdriver that has a slightly magnetic tip just enough to pick up screws that drop into hard to reach places. (If the tip has a very strong magnet it may damage parts so be careful with it too)

Work in a well lit location, preferrably spacious enough to work freely and lay out the parts. If working on a table, make sure its stable.

a small container to put screws in. Losing screws especially when you dont have extras could prove disastrous.

Make sure to check the orientations of components, Do not force components in. PGA processors specifically have markers in order to be attached properly and will easily pop in place with out any pushing when placed right. It's different with LGA's though but the markers are still there to guide you.

Be sure to observe the grooves in RAMs these will determine how they are placed.

And whatever you do: Dont lose the Motherboard's Manual!

  • Need help and advice building this PC.?

OK I need a gaming PC but cant afford it so thought of building a cheap Pc and upgrading it later.

hers what I want to buy Initially

    My questions:

    1) will the Pentium 4 processor work with the rest of the PC

    2) Will I be able to play new games on it like Sims3 (not the good games like GTAIV but some good games)

    3) ANy more suggestions

AND PLAESE IF U SUGGEST ANYTHING KEEP THE RPICE BELOW $425 for the whole rig.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME PLEASENeed help and advice building this PC.?
Your very limited with a $425 price point.

    1. NO, a Pentium 4 will not work with that system.

    2. Your gaming, particularly with new and upcoming games, will be VERY limited. You could probably get away with some new games on low settings.

    3. You will definatly need a bigger power supply. 350w will not be enough even with that system. I would also suggest a batter video card since that effects games the most (it might not matter though due to your budget CPU). I would suggest you look into overclocking for better performance at no cost.

What's the best body building plan for me? (experienced advice please)?

I used to work out regularly at the gym during my teens, then i started smoking an average of 1 pack/day at age 18. here i am 3 years later, finally smoke free and I want to hit the gym again.

I still have some ';left over'; muscle, and i have a little fat around my waist that I want to get rid of. I forgot many of the workouts i used to do.

theres a gym at my apartment complex, and since im already paying for that, im working out there. Problem is, there arent many pros that hang out there, at least not pro enough to give me a plan.

The real question is: where do I start, what's the best plan, and whats a good source (onlline or otherwise) that i can use to guide me now and later on?

thanks. What's the best body building plan for me? (experienced advice please)?
I'm not going to get into detail, but basically, just checkout bodybuilding.com and goto the forums or forum.steroid.com both places discuss diet, cardio, and weight lifting. They are pretty much the best sources available online.

Need advice building a pontoon boat out of 55 gallon drums?

So I've done a lot of math and I've concluded that a plastic 55 gallon drum will hold up about 480 lbs before it sinks. With that being said I've decided that 55 and 30 gallon plastic drums with closed tops and sealed bungs would be the best things to make pontoons out of for only having a very small budget.

I want to make a boat around 14-16 feet long. With the height of 55 gallon drums being about 3 feet, I could fit 5 of them in a row, each side of the pontoon boat. A total of 10 drums could hold up about 4800 lbs before sinking. Such a weight I don't think I'd ever reach.

I want to be able to fit 10 people on this boat. Using an extreme average weight of 200 lbs a person, I've got 2000 lbs I need to meet. Plus weight of the boat itself, coolers....the motor....gas tank....ect. ect. ect.

Just to help with readers to picture my design. I'm going to lay all of the barrels down, stacked top to bottom. 5 in each pontoon. Then if you were looking at it from the rear view, I'm going to put 3 long poles down the length of it, 1 at the 2 o clock. 1 at the 6 o clock, and another at the 10 o clock. Then weld them in place.

I do have a few concerns about using these barrels. Should I be concerned about cave ins when the barrels meet cold water? If so would it be smarter to use structurally stronger smaller containers like 30 gallon drums instead of 55s? I'm aware the leaking may occur, but like I said, I dont think I'll ever get near the sink weight. So leaking won't hurt it that much unless when it will only see maybe at best, 12 hours of use before going home. I can't imagine the leaks, if present, would be so severe it would be a problem in a 12 hour window.

With all that being said what are your concerns about using these barrels? Would you advice against them? If so, what else could I use to make pontoons out of?Need advice building a pontoon boat out of 55 gallon drums?
I don't think cave-ins would be a problem, unless you're going from a hot springs directly to the Artic Ocean. Leaking shouldn't be a problem if you caulk them and don't run them into anything. I would arrange the bungs to be as close the bottom as possible, though, just in case - you could open them to drain water if necessary.Need advice building a pontoon boat out of 55 gallon drums?
    480 lbs is at sea level that means under water%26gt; I use steel for lifting and it takes 5 55 gal drums to float 2000 pounds and they are all all most under water%26gt; Your length to weight ratio need to be re a justed as that many people on a 14-16 foot float even if 14-16 wide will be so unstable it won't work%26gt;Even a 24'pontoon boat it will only carry 8 maybe people safely%26gt; You need more barrels and a lot longer wider at least 8+ feet%26gt;
leaks shouldn't be an issue and neither should collapsing as long as you make the saddles where the barrels rest match the contour closely so they don't cause pressure points on the sidewalls of the barrels. as for length i'd make the platform shorter than the barrels for stability reasons (notice on pontoon boats they stick out both ends) this may require some additional fabricating but will ensure you don't swamp the front end when under motion( i've seen this happen with a pontoon boat that was improperly loaded.) i think the 30 gallon drums may be a better choice because they'll ride lower in the water and be a it more stable.
You could reduce the possibility of thermal collapse or expansion by drilling a small (1/2'; to 3/4';) hole in the side of each drum, position the hole at the top as you arrange them for the pontoons. A better way would be to fill the drums with something like packing ';peanuts'; or similar. Many businesses that receive large boxed items dispose of the packing foam along with the boxes. If you ask around, you may be able to find someone who would be willing to give them to you instead. The plastic drums should work fine for recreational boating.
I have seen several of these built over the years in fairbanks ak. we had event in the summer called regatta on the tanana river. some were built of drums . the best ones were built of thine wall oil field pipe. and some were built of plywood square pontoons. these draft the least amount of water and seem to be the most manuverable.

I am building a 1 bed bungalow any advice on central heating?

there will be ltd space thinking of uderfloor is it efficientI am building a 1 bed bungalow any advice on central heating?
Underfloor is a good idea, couple that to a geothermal heat pump if you have the space for the pipes outside, works like a reverse fridge and cost very little to run.I am building a 1 bed bungalow any advice on central heating?
Don't build a one bedroom bungalow, you will regret it.

My mother-in-law had a one bedroom bungalow, and when she was sick, there was nowhere for my wife to sleep when she was looking after her..

In answer to your question, underfloor heating is fine for tiled floors, not so good for carpeted floors.

There is another problem, and that is there is a time lag between the time that it is put on , and the time it actually heats the room.

Our weather is unpredictable, sometimes cold, and then a hot spell.

If it was me I would have the doors opening outwards into the passageway/alleyway creating more space, and have the radiators just inside the doors NOT under windows,

In the kitchen I would have a ';Kick-space'; blower connected to the central heating, NO WALLS UPSET.
I would install a gas ';combi'; boiler with compact rads.
check out diydata. lots of advice from trades men/women.
Whatever you do, Don't buy a Bosch Worcester Combi Boiler.

    Riddled with Faults.

Any Radiators will do though to suit your taste.
It might cost more initially, but the way the price of fuel is going, you'd be further ahead to go with solar panels.
Are you serious? -- You're building a bungalow but you're only now asking HERE for advice about c/h?

Sorry - you should have had all this part of it done and dusted during the planning stage, and you CERTAINLY wouldn't have come on here expecting any sensible information from the yep nope and wiki brigades!

Even more sorry - I've just looked at your profile and realised that you've only just joined. In this case, I apologise if you think I've been rude to you, but - and even more sorry (!!!) you really WON'T get any REAL legit replies here. Let's face it, advice like you're asking for is a chargeable commodity in the building trades (architects/designers etc) so you mustn't expect to get it for free here.
As this is a one bed, I imagine space will be at a premium. Underfloor heating will mean no radiators, freeing up wall space. If you're building from scratch, this will not be significantly more than central heating. In addition, this will add value on resale.

downside is that if any of the pipes spring a leak, can be v disruptive and expensive to dig up the concrete covering.
Think of ( i). Solar heating.

    (ii). Thrombe wall heating.
Underfloor heating is mega expensive. You can buy really slim rads these days for small areas, so suggest you go with the traditional central heating and check them out.

Any advice on building a computer.?

im going to be using it for slight to moderate gaming. im in college, and im on a budget, so im looking for something that is decent but not a supercomputer. what sugestions would you advise for the processor/video card?Any advice on building a computer.?
I assume that you already had your budget enough. But because you are a student, I recommend that you build computer with AMD Platform. Its cheaper than Intel Platform.

Search a computer website in your area first to make a comparison and fitting the specifications.

I just built an AMD computer for my son and cost USD 500 including a speaker Altec Lansing BXR 1121i, here it is:

    2 Memory 1GB DDR2 VISIPRO PC 5300 16 IC

    Hard Disk SEAGATE BARRACUDA 160GB

    Mother Board AMD Asus M2A-MX

    Processor AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (AM2) 2,6 GHz

VGA Card PIXELVIEW GeForce 9400 GT 512

    Monitor LCD LG W1941S-PF

    Keyboard Logitech Classic (Black)

    Mouse Logitech Black Optical Mouse

    ATX Casing

Oh yes I forgot, every games run smoothly in this computer. It's very not disappointing.Any advice on building a computer.?
I say the best way to go is to go to your local computer repair store and talk to the guys there and find out what would you want for the type of level of gaming your going to do. Since those guys at the comp repair shop are probably programmers or just know how computers work they would know the best things for ya.

    Couldnt find my computer receipt.
video card go nVidia. theyre reliable fast and reasonably priced.

processor depends entirely on how much your willing to spend.

you can basically get a processor at any price range
If you're on a budget spend the most you can on the video card.
Go to Shopee and ask for a Standard Configuration (Intel Processor) with max allowed graphic memory...
i always made mine out of other people's spare parts. is someone up grading? take there old stuff. as long as it hasn't gone kaplooy (yes thats a computer term. lol.)

Advice for building credit and credit cards?!?

Is it best to make a large payment, like 50% of the debt or make a payment for a lower amount for Twice as much of the Minimum Payment. Or is it even better on your record if you pay it all off immediately.

thanks.Advice for building credit and credit cards?!?
Get a credit card from local bank and pay it in time. You also can use this service to avoid common mistakes while buiding credit and pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of payments - creditreport.imess.netAdvice for building credit and credit cards?!?
Don't try to do anything special to influence your credit score, that's a fool's game. Credit will come naturally to people with good incomes, plenty of resources and a pattern of responsible behavior. Be one of those people.

For your financial health you should use your credit card sparingly and pay it back as fast as you can afford. Any time you borrow or waste money you take it away from your future self.
from what iv heard its best to have the full amount to pay it off but make many small payments to have a record on how many times you have paid consistently. I'm not a financial advisor but this seems pretty reasonable to me.
Usually, it's best to pay off your purchases in full everytime. If you are going to carry a balance it's best that it not be more than 10% of your credit limit or it could lower your credit score

  • I've been sick for 3 months and I need advice in building myself up again.

I was getting panic attacks for 1.5 months and it turns out it was low blood sugar. During this I rarely left the house, I was unemployed apart from my freelance journalism job, had no money and just moved into a new apartment with my v patient boyfriend. The apartment has no natural light so it's very hard to wake up in the mornings. The panic attacks went but I was left with bad fatigue. I think it was down to lack of routine and natural light. I tried exercise dvds but I was so wrecked. Also I was on a budget so often had to eat what was there and combined it may not be totally nutritious. I do eat healthy but for example if I only have brown bread in the house or whole wheat pasta then just eating that isn't obviously a good idea. Then I thought I was getting back on track but felt a bit strange socially. Like visiting my boyfriends mother's place in the country I would feel dizzy and need fresh air a lot even though I was avoiding sugars. After eating food even really healthy food I feel sick and can't look people in the eye I get nervous and jumpy and can't socialise if there's food in my stomach. It's v v very weird!! I have no desire to try anti depressants as at the beginning of the summer I had a terrible reaction to SSRIs and medication never tends to suit me. So I went to the doctor yet again and was diagnosed with GERD and told it should clear in 10 days with medication. It's gotten rid of most of it but I feel dizzy and weird now in social situations, if the weather/room is hot, if someone is too close to me and if even my parents talk too loudly. I just have a general feeling unwellness. I want advice on exercise, and diet and perhaps herbal remedies. Also if you've experienced this and think it may be food allergies let me know. I've not had the best summer but I want to be healthy again to have fun. I'm not technically depressed, my mood is fine but this annoys me. Social situations are making me nervous as I'm afraid I'll feel sick if I go out. I think I need to get back into things gradually and any advice will help as I'm eager to get back working. I worked all my life and was never sick and totally have no interest in sympathy. I wanna have fun, travel, work and be the ambitious go getter I once was. I've been sick for 3 months and I need advice in building myself up again.

ADVANCED PIANISTS(classical): Could you give me some advice on building a piano repertoire of classical music

Most of what I play is Richard Clayderman ballads and I only know a few classics including Gymnopedie No. 1, Fur Elise and the 1st mvt of the Moonlight Sonata. Which pieces would you suggest from your own repertoire?ADVANCED PIANISTS(classical): Could you give me some advice on building a piano repertoire of classical music
I am not an advanced classical pianist, though my daughter in law is. When she started her program in grad school, she chose a number of pieces which included Beethoven's Pathetique (very long) and one or two of his shorter sonatas and Chopin. She has since moved on to some Bach pieces and recently Rachmaninoff. She is also working on a lengthy really difficult Shubert sonata. Have you tried to play Claire de Lune by DeBussy? It's really lovely (though too tough for me!)

Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?

There was a firecracker lit off in our basement of the house we are having built. Luckily it didn't burn down. But the had to replace the pit in the basement and the whole house smells like smoke (no drywall up yet, only wood). So they want us to sign a disclosure about the incident. I am concerned about resale and how if we sign this it will affect us.Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?
As long as you fixed the damage you should be ok. Ask your realtor to explain it to you, or look it up on a site that covers the laws in your state. Disclosure is where you are telling the buyer of problems with your house. Its the law in most states. Asking your realtor is your best bet. If you don't have a realtor maybe someone you know is knowledgable about your state's laws, but a realtor is your best and safest bet. Also I'm not sure who is asking you to sign this disclosure. Be careful with this.Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?
Make sure that you have your attorney look at the disclosure before you sign. It may just be a statement about the firecracker going off in the basement.

Just be aware of what you are signing.
In NY this disclosure is required by law. I wouldn't worry about it. If you building over a closed garbage dump that might be a problem

We have a chicken tractor that houses 4 hens in our yard. It allows us to move them to fresh grass everyday. You can view it on my blog at http://www.greenat50.com. The design is a motification of a design you can purchase at http://www.catawbacoops.com. The amount of cedar would have made the coop very heavy to carry, so we we used exterior grade plywood instead and made the entire bottom just wire...good luck. Just make sure to close them in well at night or someone will have them as a snack.Diy,free advice on building chicken coop for 1 rooster,3hens?
Go to the library and see if they don't have a book with all the details. Many feed stores sell books that will explain, '; How to Best Keep Laying Hens in a Confined Area '; Ask the people at the feed store where you will be buying feed. They are usually eager to help and can give great advice for your area. Climate makes a difference.

    Building a treehouse advice?

What kind of trees can hold up a treehouse?

How should I start building it?

If the place I live gets a lot of rain, will that effect the treehouse?

What kind of maintenence will the treehouse need?Building a treehouse advice?
Basically you want a tree with enough thick branches to support your beams. Pine trees are generally poor choices. Some maples are very good choices. It's a good idea to ';anchor'; at least some of your floor beams in the ';crook'; of a branch.

    Beams are 2x6 lumber, and you'll want to get a few of these beneath your ';floor.';

Also, realize that your tree is a growing, changing, living structure -- and your treehouse isn't. That means your treehouse is temporary - eventually the tree will grow and twist (and your beams won't) and you'll need to start over.

And if you're in a rainy climate, you'll want to paint your treehouse to protect it. Otherwise the wood will rot within about 3 years, and you'll fall through the floor.

The fun thing about treehouses is the view, and breezes. So I wouldn't worry about putting up 4 walls, of if you do, make huge windows. With no windows or small windows, you're just sitting in a box that happens to be in a tree.

Most of my treehouses have been a roof and a floor, basically a pavillion up in a tree - affording a 360degree view and wonderful breezes.

Some ideas for you. I've built numerous treehouses, and they're alot of fun, but they're temporary. Enjoy.Building a treehouse advice?
I would build a self standing platform around the tree. No nails in the trunk. Then you can be more liberal about your tree selection.

    1. draw it on paper. graph paper works best, make each graph intersection equal one foot and go from there. this makes counting your lumber easy.

    2. concrete piers in the ground are best. dig them at least 16';x16';x16';. stand them out of the ground about three inches to keep the wood from contacting the soil. the post should be 4x4 or 4x6.

    3. floor joists should be at 16'; intervals. use 5 1/4 deck board on the surface. use 2x10 boards for the joist members. place the handrail at 36'; off the deck with boards at 18'; below that. Use pressure treated lumber throughout the project. Either run the deck at a 45 degree angle, or nail sway bracing to the underside of the floor. Either method will stabilize the treehouse and keep it from flopping over.

    4. if you plan to install a roof on it, keep it simple and build a flat roof. Elevate one side of the roof one foot higher than the other side for drainage. build walls instead of handrails. use 2x6 rafters to support the roof. and use roll roofing to dry it in.

    5. all wood structures left outside need maintenance. pressure treated lumber will last a long time. but you will need to apply wood sealer to it every year.

    6. if you live in metro atlanta, IM me and i will come build it for you. if you are cute and single, you get a discount.
This site has a lot of the answers you need including a video as well as step by step instructions with pictures and a list of materials needed. Sounds like this will be fun! :)

    Running advice on building endurance?

Hi i have started running 4 Km 4 times a week which is around 3.3 miles in US i started of at 2 km twice a week before i doubled my distance and days and im amazed at my endurance increace but i would like to know how does youre endurance increase? what physical actions happen inside youre body to build the endurance?

    thankyouRunning advice on building endurance?
Your body learns to be more efficient the at the distance you train. Everything in your body changes down to the mitochondria to achieve the efficient use of available energy, even cannibalizing muscle efficiently at extreme distances.

I've run 22 marathons and 6 50K ultras (31.1 miles). Your body will learn to tolerate the sports drinks and foods you will consume while running without stopping. All of this will occur naturally during proper training.

Endurance is distance. If you run 5 miles all of the time, your body will become efficient at the 5 mile distance.

Speed is achieved by running faster at the same or shorter distances once or twice a week, then you run slower during all other running.Running advice on building endurance?
Your endurance increases by NOT running the SAME DISTANCE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, like you do. It increases by varying distance, including variations in paces during runs.

Bascially, when you exercise, your fitness decreases. Your body then rests (hopefully), causing it to over-compensate for the fitness level reduction. Fitness then rises above normal levels. However, with the SAME DISTANCE, fitness decreases constantly after a small increase. So, carry on running 4k 4 times weekly, and you will see your fitness level drop to 0.

Mix up your sessions. Have one run at 1k, but at a real fast pace. ave one run at 7k, with a real slow pace. Have one run at 5k, with3 intervals of 6 minutes of fast running, and 3 minutes at a slower recovery jog. But don't run the same distance over and over again-its demotivating, and doesn't improve long term fitness.
run a little more every day

Building muscle with weights advice please?

I am starting to lift weights but need advice on some questions guys and girls

    1. I have only just started and am using 5kg weights. Am i weak if i can only lift 5kgs at first? I recently saw a documentary about young bodybuilders where this 15 year old girl was curling 7.5kg weights. So am i just a weak person?

    2. I am very slender and so will i need to put on fat first by eating loads of food and then work out to see bigger muscles develop as the fat turns to muscle or can i see good gains from going from slender to muscular?

    Thanks

DaveBuilding muscle with weights advice please?
You build muscle over time, not over night. Increase your lean protein intake and progressively add weight to how much you are training with. Don't just eat food, lean proteins, chicken, fish, skim milk, and protein shakes if you're so inclined. Even the Incredible Hulk started as a baby hulk.Building muscle with weights advice please?
have a higher protien intake, like eggs, protine shakes/powders.
big no no FAT DOES NOT TURN IN TO MUSCLE. and sorry to say but yes you are weak but everyone starts somewhere so hit the weights hard and one day youll be where im at ;) lol jk
Congratulations, Dave! Great to see you are taking an interest in your health. Keep up the good work! A few thoughts about your questions.

    1. No sir, you most certainly are NOT a ';weak'; person. You should not try to measure your fitness and strength by comparing yourself to others. I'm a weakling compared to Lee Haney, but I look like a colossus standing next to my 5'6'; wife. If 5kg is all you can lift, go for it, and DO NOT be ashamed. EVERYBODY has to start somewhere. You'll move up soon, if you keep at it. Persistence is the key.

    2. If you're slender, you don't want to get fat first, just to bulk up, and then try to replace fat with muscle. Putting on fat is unhealthy - bad for your heart, bad for your metabolism, and bad for your body chemistry. Eat plenty of healthy foods, and your body should - SHOULD - put on mass, if you continue to weight train.

';Healthy foods'; means lean protein (egg whites, soy, sugar-free yogurt, whey, grilled fish and chicken, and LEAN cuts of pork and beef), beans, fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. If you eat potatoes, they should be baked, and you should eat the skin (try low-fat cottage cheese instead of sour cream). Better yet, eat plain baked sweet potatoes (but skip the butter and sugar, much less candied yams).

Contrary to popular belief, a low-fat diet isn't very good for you. Get your fats from ';good'; sources, like RAW (not smoked or roasted or salted) nuts and olive oil - not from bacon, cake icing, or salad dressing and mayonnaise (unless it's homemade, with olive or flax seed oil, and then only in moderation). Don't forget calcium, which you can get from skim milk, yogurt and reduced-fat cheese.

Avoid fried food, sugar (drink diet sodas if you absolutely MUST have a soft drink), refined carbs (most pastas and breads), flour (again, breads, but also cookies, cakes, etc.), and alcohol. Every once in a while, ';treat'; yourself, but junk food should not be part of anyone's everyday life. On non-treat days, slice up a banana, and pour in half a cup of skim milk, or take a handful of fresh strawberries and add a tablespoon of reduced-calorie whipped topping, instead of reaching for that big bowl of ice cream.

You'll have to eat a lot more of those healthy foods, because an unhealthy diet is much more dense in terms of calories. But you do NOT want to train your body to accept a diet that makes you fat.

If you are eating like a horse, and exercising with weights, and you're still slender, that may that you are just ... young. A lot of guys don't ';fill out'; until they're in their late teens and early 20's. If you are under the age of 16-18 or so, you should seek professional assistance before undertaking any SERIOUS weight training.

If you're older and still can't gain weight, on the other hand, you might just have a high metabolism. Consider yourself blessed, my friend. Almost everyone else has the exact opposite problem, and would KILL to be in your shoes.
I started out with 5kgs i use to do 20 reps, then relaxed for a few minutes and then 20 again relax and then 20 again. You know when you are ready for 7kgs etc. I ended up pushing benchpress of 100 kg and could do 10 reps in a row. Those were the days. You must always remember to do warm-ups before doing any reps ok. I did not eat more at all just did loads of benchpress etc. Take care that you don't hurt yourself and get one of the guys who knows what they are doing to work out a plan for you. :)))
Don't eat tons of food to gain fat. Just eat healthy and add lean protien to help build muscle. What ever you can lift now is acceptable. Continue to lift and before you know it you will be stronger and lifting more. Everyone is differnt and will start at different weights. Do what is good for you and don't compare yourself to others.
in a bulking stage you will eat loads of food and train hard. you will put on a bit of fat too, this is inevitable. when you get to the size you want you can then gut back on food a bit and increase cv training to lose this fat.

fat does not turn to muscle. you build muscle from scratch.

the key to gaining muscle is eat clean and lift heavy. you want a high protein diet (1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight)

everyone starts somewhere and when i started lifting my bicep curl was 5kg in each hand. thats up to 15 in each now.

    good luck with it.

    some interesting information here http://forum.bodybuilding.com
';The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step';. In other words, yes.. your weak right now, but your doing something about it. So feel good about that. It's much better to work at the right weight, with excellent form than to over-extend and risk injury.

You certainly do NOT need a layer of fat to build muscle. You will need to increase your food in order to build muscle, but you do not need to get excess weight. Be sure to eat good quality protein foods after each owrkout too. Very best of luck.

  • We are building and instead of renting will be living in a camper w/ 2 under 2 yrs. Any experinced advice?

we are in the process of building our house and I just want to know if anyone has lived in a camper or similar situation with babies and would like any words of wisdom or things you couldn't live without, that kind of thing. If you have any advice for keeping a sane environment plz share :)We are building and instead of renting will be living in a camper w/ 2 under 2 yrs. Any experinced advice?
When I was about 4 my mom left my abusive dad and moved me and my sister into a hotel room. We were there about 6 months in tight quarters. My sister was a little under a year old.

The only advice I can give is make sure to get the kids out to burn energy. We went to the park nearly every day and she always made sure we had plenty to do to keep us busy.

Good luck!We are building and instead of renting will be living in a camper w/ 2 under 2 yrs. Any experinced advice?
don't do it is the only advice i have..lol. we got transferred for my husbands job an his employer paid for a suite at the Marriott for 30 days while we looked for a new place. i had my 3 year old son and was pregnant with my daughter. it was awful!. no room to move around really, hardly any privacy except for at night when my son was asleep in the joining room. the garbage piled up and i can only imagine how bad it would have been if he was still in diapers. you will need tons of patience. good luck and congrats on the house.
Serousally go wild childproofing, if they are going to get into something dangerous it will be fairly wuickly in that small of space. Make sure you have lots of toys and coloring stuff, and take your kids outside as often as possiable

I need professional help/advice on building/putting together my own computer?

Okay, this is what I want: A fast computer. I don't know much about what I need. I just want a fast computer, with a lot of space (hard drive space?), a lot of memory (memory ram?), a great amazing processor, and I don't know what else I need. I want it to run and perform smoothly, no freezing or lagging on my video games. I want my games to look and sound great. I have more than 13.0 GB worth of games, and I have a lot of music. What do you suggest I buy/do?I need professional help/advice on building/putting together my own computer?
If your a gamer i suggest building your own, you will get quality components for a great price. If you were to buy a similar gaming system from a major manufacturer you are likely to pay alot more.

Heres my suggestion: Build around the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, if you can afford there is even Quad core. Get a decent socket 775 Mobo, Asus and Gigabyte are great brand names. At least 2 gigs DDR2 Ram, top of the line Video Card is the Nvidia 8800GTX, and for hard drives get 1 or 2 Western Digital Raptors the 150gig 10k RPM drives. Post back with a budget ill put one together for you on NeweggI need professional help/advice on building/putting together my own computer?
most important Q is how much $$$ you've. how much $ you willing to invest?
Build your own... Go to somewhere like a newegg.com and check out the reviews carefully. Sata hard drives partitioned properly will help, two hard drives, one with the OS on it, the other for your games... Hard drives seem to have the best price point in the 320gb range (about $100) . The video card should be well reviewed and have 256mb on it... 2 gb of ram for windows XP, don't get vista yet because of driver issues. For the processor, AMD dual cores just had a massive price drop, just buy the fastest one you can afford. For the board, a nice MSI would do just fine. Sound cards are cheap, they all do basically the same for games...
Well you didnt give us a budget to work with. And you didnt mention whether or not you know how to put it together when you get the parts. I would say for a nasty computer you want, expect to spend at least $2000 from a company like Dell, etc.

$1500 if you build it yourself.
These are some great links, and I think you should read them before you go any further.

Until you are ready to pick all the compatible components you need, you are not ready to build in my opinion. If you jump into this you will be sorry.

My rig is not top of the line, but It will run ANY game very well. The specs for it as well as my wives can be found in the Photos here if you would like use this as an example that is pretty fast. http://360.yahoo.com/profile-ewqgL8I7dK4鈥?/a>

Advice on Building Credit when borrowing against a CD?

have you used this method of building credit?

if so how did it effect your credit?

Is it better to start with a small $500 cd and work my way up every six months?

example: $500 cd then $1000, then $2500, then $5000, then $10,000 ( every six months)?

or just start with a $5000 cd? (6 months or a year)

    Thanks

~ building credit and repairing credit is like another job.Advice on Building Credit when borrowing against a CD?
I built credit by borrowing against a CD using 2 ways. The first way was I borrowed $2000 on a secured CD loan for 24 months. I took the proceeds of the loan and placed them in another CD that matured in 12months. After 18 months after paying off the CD then I opened a Citi Secured Credit Card in which the security deposit is linked to a CD that earns 4% interest. I aggressively added to the CD as much and as often as I could until I was able to reach the maximum allowed ($25,000) and then after 18 months, the card converted to a regular card and I renewed my CD with citi earning the same amount of interestAdvice on Building Credit when borrowing against a CD?
Very good answer! I have heard this method by a real estate investor. I will be taking your advice as well as the one by the real estate investor.

    Thanks!

It really doesn't make a difference. Your assets are your assets. My best advice for building credit is to have as much credit limit (on credit cards) as possible. Then don't use that limit. This will reflect on your credit report as a low amount of bankcard utilization.

Im not even sure having cd's will help build credit at all. It may just make creditors feel more comfortable in loaning you money because of your assetts.

I am building a hovercraft and I want to make it steer, Do u have any advice on how to do this?

I am building a hovercraft for the science fair. I need to make something new on it to aprove, as far as I know not many have beenb made to steer, I need advice on how to make it steer and also if you have any cool twist that I would able to add onto it??? please help!!I am building a hovercraft and I want to make it steer, Do u have any advice on how to do this?
If it is in motion, add a rudder. As the air flows across it... like a boat in water, the craft will twist to cause a turn type movement. If stationary, divert some airflow out a side jet ';jet'; to push the craft in the direction you want it to go. A small solenoid valve would do the trick. Fire to allow air to flow as desired. A servo motor/remote control car steering mechanism will do the trick for the rudder.I am building a hovercraft and I want to make it steer, Do u have any advice on how to do this?
If all you are doing is providing lift air, you need to still provide forward motion. Once you have forward motion, you can add steering. As it is a hovercraft, you can't have a rudder hanging down (especially if it's on land!).

Motion forward can be achieved, as others suggest. Steering might also be obtained by placing a vane to tilt one side or the other.

So far as accurate steering, that's an area where true hovercraft fall down. You can swing its nose the way you want to go pretty fast, but the inertia tends to take it straight ahead instead, until the thrust having altered direction slowly brings it around. In the meantime, it skids.

A cool twist would be find a way to make one turn immediately on demand.

Otherwise, maybe a horn to warn when you attempt to turn it!

i think you must add a horizontal rudder like with a helicopter, or add one facing outwards, with flaps.

you could also make advance forward and/or backward by using two rudders in the air bag: if one is more powerful than the other, the hover would advance in the opposite direction.
Vanes below the main fan to direct some of the airflow to the side. Or tilt the main fan. Or have secondary fans pointing to the side.

    ';as far as I know not many have beenb made to steer';

Of course they can steer, why would anyone build a hovercraft that can't steer?

    .
Well your using a fan on the back attach a bar or something to make it swivel

    Advice building a computer?

Can't afford a Dell workstation, so I will need to put together my own, and was wondering what combinations/recommendations you would make. at $978 the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor is a little out of reach, so was looking at Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 Merom 2.33GHz Socket M Processor Model BX80537T7600 - Retail for $630. How do they compare and what graphics card, case, motherboard, would you recommend? I work as graphic designer with photoshop 300-400MB files and also do a lot of 3D work and video digitizing. Any advice greatly appreciated.Advice building a computer?
If you need to ask advice, i would advise on not doing it, the hardware is the easy thing to put together, but its the rest that is frustrating.Advice building a computer?
The motherboard has to support the 64bit proccessor for high end graphics. For Video I would go with ATI 256 MB GPU for the 3D stuff This thing has the Active x 9.0 which is real sweet almoste as good as the Active X10.0 Now for the Ram since you have the Dual core CPU I would get 2Gig of RAM with dual channel DDR-SDRAM PC3200 to support the Bus speed///now for the case I would use one that will give the best cooling for you money ....The motherboard would be the one that has 1024 FSB DDR 184 DIMM slots ...
yep your going the right direction with the motherboard, but include at least one GB of ram for photoshop. ATI video card are a good idea. The video card should have around 512 mb of memory. as for the case, any case is good enough, if you want a pretty cool premade case, visit bestbuy. For your A drive(floppy), you should replace it with a memory card/stick reader. Get a pretty small hadrdrive for your windows program, get a REALLY big secondary hard drive (or a big portable if you like to travel a lot) to store all your photo shop doc.'s

I suggest ';western digital'; harddrives, very quiet and high quality

    hope it helps (;
If you're working with that kind of stuff, you'll want both processor speed and a ton of memory. I'd put money into memory.

I'm not sure, though, that for those kinds of dollars, you'll get what you want. Unlike the ';old days';, you don't necessarily save a lot by putting your own together - companies like Dell and whatever have put a lot of research into eking out the best performance for their configurations.
I've always built my own machines. If you want to build a great box for as little $$ as possible then you need to be looking at AMD not Intel. This machine screams. I work with Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, AudoCAD and all sorts of 3D programs. I'm running an overclocked AMD Athlon 64 3200+ w/ 2GHz RAM, NVidia 6800GS Graphics Card on a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum motherboard. I originally built this box for less than $500 3 years ago and just did this last upgrade for less than $150 (processor and motherboard). You don't need anywhere near the fastest stuff out there to have a beast of a machine. Stay about 2 to 3 speeds below whatever is the latest thing out and you'll maximize speed vs. cost ratio and be ahead of the game with always more to invest down the road.
Since you are primarily doing graphics work, I would suggest a MAC rather than a PC as they are just better for ';heavy'; graphics work.

Basically, for a PC, you want min. 2Ghz CPU, Fast video card with min 256Mb mem, and a min 1Gb RAM at 400Mhz or better, IF using Vista, make that 3Gb RAM. MB with min 400Mhz FSB, case with at least 400W power supply, to fit MB, etc. ALSO a large, fast HD with min 2Mb cache.

I would ALSO suggest that you use multiple partitions, putting ONLY the OS on C, with others for applications, data, transfer, etc. (as needed.)

I have C through F partitions on MY machines with 80GB+ HDs. (I have 9 machines currently including an ';older'; mini-mainframe!)
    Check here for prices.

Ok it all depends on what you want but I got some great information looking up videos on the same topics from a site www.beyourownit.com. They also showed me how to build a website that was pretty cool for a wildlife refuge my family has in Costa Rica.

Its free for the videos and trust me its a great site to have bookmarked.I'm looking for good software for building web sites. advice me?
    Buddy%26lt;

U can always try Mozilla Sea Monkey, not many ppl know this web browser. It can compare a lot with IE8 and firefox.

There is a composer tool in it so you can build your own website. The great thing about this is it don't need html formats, u just need to type in wad u want in ur website~
Depends on what type of site do you want to make. If you want to make static site then you should make it using template or use photoshop and dreamweaver

Give me 1 piece of advice about building my own pc.?

I've almost got all the components together (motherboard, cpu etc) but I haven't put a computer together before and it's going to be very expensive mistake if I do something wrong :S. Any advice or tips will be much appreciated. tyGive me 1 piece of advice about building my own pc.?
Take your time, if this is your first time, just take your time. Read over the manuals completely before starting. It may take some time, but wouldnt you rather have it done right after some time instead of rushing to get it together and messing something up.

(and use an anti-static strap)Give me 1 piece of advice about building my own pc.?
Just buy an anti-ESD wrist strap for around 5$. I don't trust that ';touch something metal'; stuff!

Make sure all parts are compatible and that you're satisfied with the parts you've selected.

Read reviews on your motherboard to see if anyone has mentioned the documentation. You don't want to end up with the motherboard that comes with a scribbled-on piece of toilet paper for documentation!

Make sure that your PSU connectors are adequate for the rest of your components. Do you have enough SATA connectors? Do you have the right power connection to the motherboard? If not, buy adapters or look into a different board. It's a pain in the neck to order all those parts and put it all together only to find out you can't hook your hard drive up or connect the power cable to the motherboard!

Be especially careful with the processor, fan/heatsink, and mounting bracket. You don't want to bend, stress, or break anything here!

Don't skimp on your PSU. Buy an appropriately powerful PSU for your components and make sure it's highly rated. It doesn't need to be expensive, but you want something tried-and-true.

Make sure your case dimensions are appropriate! If you buy a monster 11-inch long graphics card and a micro-ATX case you might not be able to fit it in there!
It's very important that the Ram is compatible with the MOTHERBOARD and you put it the proper socket.Like socket A or socket 1 for the first module.
Don't forget the THIN layer of thermal paste between the processor and heat sink... and (I know this is two pieces of advice) make sure the heat sink is firmly seated on top of the processor.
Always ground yourself (by touching the metal case) before you pick up any of the components: these super tiny circuits can be fried by a static shock from your finger tips.
Actually, the magnetic screwdriver is a good advice.

Umm... 1 piece of advice... make sure all your parts are compatible with each other.
Before you start putting the peaces together be sure to ground yourself to discharge any static electricity.
    buy a magnetic screwdriver.
